Biological in-situ remediation techniques – INSISA®

Successful and economical implementation of biological in-situ remediation following the principles of sustainability requires detailed hydro-geological and micro-biological knowledge as well as expertise in process engineering.

Our experts of microbiology, chemistry, geology and process engineering pass on their knowledge and their experience in customized training programs and courses.

IBL offers companies and authorities of foreign countries working in the field of remediation the possibility of know how transfer and share of licence in order to apply the highly economical INSISA® techniques for biological in-situ remediation independently and successfully.

Our service comprises the adjustment of procedures to the specific local conditions (adaptation). Our performance will come up to the interests and possibilities of our business partners. The targets of our customers will be our targets.

Training programs and workshop topics are outlined below. The contents can be adjusted to meet your special requirements.

  • Understanding the applicability of the procedures in terms of the environmental and subsoil conditions given
  • Biological/biochemical basic knowledge including specialized knowledge on micro-biological processes
  • Special analytical and biological test routines as well as lab tests
  • Approach to a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the geological and hydro-geological situation of a given site
  • Target and methods of groundwater modelling and tracer technology
  • Interdisciplinary, integrative project management related to conception, planning and implementation
  • Process technique and engineering of four different INSISA® methods
  • Monitoring of the remediation process by means of special multi-level systems and sample analysis
  • Evaluation and optimisation of current remediation projects
  • Efficient data management applying geographical information systems (GIS)

The training courses are designed to integrate current projects and/or data of our trainees.

IBL practices this cooperative form of technology and know-how transfer since 2003 successfully as consultant of a leading environmental company of Brazil, a country which forms part of the MERCOSUR. These activities are supported by inWent gGmbH, emerging from the fusion of the Carl Duisberg Society e.V. and the German Institute for International Development. The co-funding comes from the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ).
